South of San Jose

Costanoa- beautiful location south of Half Moon Bay with full hook-ups (read more about it here)

Santa Cruz Redwoods RV- RV park with full hook-ups just 35 miles from our garage and a great way to camp amongst the redwood trees (read more here)

Big Sur Campground- campground with water and electric hook-ups, but no sewer connection; best for experienced towers or delivery (read more about it here)

Monterey Dunes- just 8 miles from Monterey and across the street from the beach and bike path

Paso Robles-Wine Country RV- right in the heart of Paso Robles wine country

Paso Robles-Vines RV- right on the 101, nice place but near the freeway

Moro Bay- right on the bay

Solvang/Buelton-Flying Flags- nice place close to Solvang and wineries

Ocean Mesa- beautiful but secluded, about 10 miles from Santa Barbara

Anaheim- convenient location to visit Disneyland or go to the Anaheim Convention Center (more details here)

Malibu Beach- expensive but beautiful view and just down the road from town

Newport Dunes- not many options on the coast in Southern California except for the state parks (it's not as nice as the pictures)

San Diego- on the bay, very nice place and close to all of the San Diego attractions

North of San Jose

KOA Petaluma- great place for kids, close to downtown Petaluma and the coast

Novato RV Park- a good option for the Marin area

Vineyard RV Park Vacaville- if you are heading towards Sacramento or Redding, this RV park is a good stop

Olema Campground- right next to PT Reyes National Seashore

Russian River- Casini Ranch Campground

KOA Cloverdale- large campgrounds in the hills north of Healdsburg

Napa Expo- one of our favorites, a walk to downtown Napa

Calistoga- pretty much a parking lot, but great location and within walking distance to downtown Calistoga

Red Bluff- heading north on I-5, nice place to stop

Redding- good base for Mt. Shasta, Shasta Lake, Lassen, and Sacramento River

Yosemite Pines- Nice private RV park with hook-ups right outside the park

North Coast- Redwoods

Fortuna- riverwalk

Arcata-Mad River Rapids RV- a good base for exploring the Redwoods
